Very quick update: I have slapped my inner lazy voice silly and kept to the plan! I am feeling great, have way more energy and this week I will be adding 20 minutes of strength training as well to get those muscles really working. Oh also, I am trying my hand at indoor climbing this week and I have my first introductory class this coming Wednesday! Looking forward to it and hopefully, I can actually pull my weight up the climbing surface without passing out. Thankfully I don’t have a fear of heights … that I know of at least!

Blog-motivated exercise plan!
August 1st, 2008 — Health, Lifestyle
So I have decided to get back into gym … again! I go through months of not wanting to go due to sheer laziness, finally feeling fat and ugly, motivation strikes and I am ready to hit the treadmill! I wish this motivation lasted months, but sadly it lasts a few days. Well motivation has hit again and this time, by God I am determined to keep myself going. I was in the middle of trying to figure out how I can cash in on this motivation streak but sustain it as well when I stumbled across this - The Top 42 Exercise Hacks! Point number 11 on this list caught my eyes like a light beacon. BLOG ABOUT IT! It was like the cosmic world was screaming at me to get off my lazy arse, stop whining, make the time and get going! Why didn’t I think of this before! And so without further delay, this blog will now become my motivation to sweat, curse and wheeze my way to a new healthy me.
Taking frugal living to a whole new level!

I have been sick, which means lying in bed, catching up on months of unwatched soapies in between bouts of fever gripped shivering sessions. One of these lucid, post-panado, relatively shiver-free sessions coincided with a re-run of Oprah.
Home Decor II: The DIY Tv Stand!
June 3rd, 2008 — Home Decor, Lifestyle
As I mentioned in an earlier post, we had purchased a D.I.Y TV stand which needed to be assembled when we got home from our very successful shopping trip. My sister (henceforth known as FF), who is staying with us for a while, was chomping at the bit to play handyman. The engineer in her couldn’t resist the challenge. TD appointed himself the overseer and I appointed myself head designer.
Bridge back to daily life!

My last post was a very emotional one, and I felt that I needed to write it to process all the emotions that I have been feeling over the last month. It feels almost therapeutic. The emotions are still there, but they are manageable.
A successful weekend!

After a hefty breakfast & two hours of serious weekly-series-catch-up session, it was time to head out for a day of shopping to source pieces for my home decor project. I managed to rope TD in and get him all excited about the prospect of a clean, elegant looking lounge. TD and I both dislike long shopping trips, we are the ‘zip-in-zip-out’ type so we don’t really get the whole ‘walk around the mall for an entire day’ thing & shopping malls don’t usually leave us feeling warm and fuzzy. But Saturday was a different story, I came to the realisation that I love shopping malls, I love the idea of having a gazillion furniture stores under one roof!
Buying vs Making?
May 23rd, 2008 — Home Decor, Lifestyle
I stumbled across Mr B’s Carpenters while searching for interesting, stylish, don’t-break-my-bank-balance furniture stores and I wonder if this will work out cheaper? Especially considering all the furniture pieces that I like seem to be set on breaking my bank balance!
Home Decor Project
May 23rd, 2008 — Home Decor, Lifestyle
I am done living like a student.
That is it. Time to start making a home out of my flat. I have always wanted to spice up my flat and get a theme going to bring a classic, timeless feel to it but I just couldn’t be bothered to put in the effort. But after weeks of coming home and feeling like I was walking into a student digs with sparse furnishing and no character, I have decided that it is time to invest time & energy into decorating my flat without having to eat salty crackers for the rest of the year.
